After seeing Best Buy’s disappointing pre-order bonus today I just had to write this…

The Pre-order bonuses in the US totally suck! We aren’t getting any sort of physical items only a variety of in-game weapons, which is so lame given that the inventory system in Downpour won’t let us hang on to said bonus in-game weapons as we play! What makes it even worse is that other countries are offering some kick ass physical goodies for pre-ordering in addition to the same bonus in-game weapons.

In Mexico they are giving away mugs, flashlights and laptop cases While in Australia two retailers are offering a very cool Downpour t-shirt and poster combo.

I am le sad. I put an order into Amazon so at least I won’t have to pay sales tax, I get the game on the release day with free shipping and a $10 Amazon credit. Also since I pre-ordered HD Collection there as well I can take $5 off my Downpour purchase.

I also put in a pre-order to Australian retailer JB Hi-Fi (who’s willing to ship internationally) so at least I’ll have some cool Downpour bonus items coming for my Silent Hill collection.

So are you guys disappointed as well? If you are pre-ordering which retailer are you going with?

13 years ago today my favorite video game series started with Silent Hill‘s release on the Playstation! What a long way this franchise has come with 8 (core) games, several spin offs and two movies! Happy birthday Silent Hill :)

So I’ve decided to start my very own podcast here on the Silent Hill Historical Society! With this podcast I will give the rundown of the latest Silent Hill news, general site updates and my thoughts on the series. I’m hoping to make this a bi-weekly podcast if there’s enough news…if not at least once a month!

In this first episode I make my introductions and discuss the plethora of news received just over the past 2 weeks: My Downpour and Book of Memories Preview, the new HD trailer and screens, the confirmation of release dates and even some Revelation updates from Michael J Bassett.
